I had a fun and exhausting day, which finished with entertainment. The first Gala show of BMC 2025 was hosted by ventriloquist Max Fulham. After successfully hosting the 2023 Gala show for BMC, Max , Grandad, and Bee were all back.
I was in the stalls and had a fairly good view but struggled for some close-up magic parts as I stupidly left my glasses in my room. I won’t do that again, but still, it didn’t ruin my enjoyment. The show timed at about 90 minutes and was excellent. It started with a surprise when X (Marc Spelmann) entertained on stage and introduced Max in his own unique way.
Highlights for me included watching the crazy antics of Dom Chambers producing multiple drinks, which, of course, was very funny. As a fan of stage illusions, Enzo Wayne was also amazing. It was quite a lengthy set with a number of big illusions, and if you are not familiar, definitely worth watching. A taster is below.
After the show, I was able to go for a quick drink at the House of Illusion, and I was able to catch up with IBM friends (Brit Ring No.25) and others. A thoroughly enjoyable day, and I am looking forward to what day 2 brings and who I will meet!
